The fairer way to book a mechanic
Most booking platforms take a big cut of every job, and that cost ends up in your price. We do it differently: mechanics pay us a flat $5 when a job is completed, plus any applicable card-processing costs when online payments are enabled. The rest goes to the person doing the work.
- Mechanics declare their qualifications and insurance when joining
- Real reviews from real bookings only
- Review and approve the finished work in your account
For mechanics
flat fee per completed job. You keep the rest.
No commission. No subscription. No joining fee. Card processing is passed through at cost, so you can see exactly where every cent goes.

Questions people ask
How do I know the price is fair?
Prices are built from standard labour times for each job, a fair local hourly rate, and the cost of quality parts. Mechanics on MyLocalMechanic BC keep everything except a flat $5 booking fee, so there's no hidden commission pushing prices up. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
When do I pay?
Online card payments are not enabled yet. Confirm payment arrangements with your mechanic before the job; you can approve the finished work in your account.
Do mechanics really come to my house?
Yes. Our mobile mechanics work in your driveway, carport or parking stall, or at your workplace. Prefer a local garage? Choose "I'll bring it in" and drop the car off at an independent garage near you. Jobs that need a lift, like clutches and wheel alignments, are garage-only; we'll tell you before you book.
What if something goes wrong after the repair?
Contact your mechanic and our support team. Confirm the mechanic's parts and labour warranty before booking; we do not currently promise a platform-wide warranty.
