About this job
Brake pads wear down with use. When they get thin you'll often hear a squeal from the wear indicator. Your mechanic fits new pads, cleans and lubricates the slides, and checks the rotors are within spec.
If the rotors are worn, scored or warped, we'll tell you and quote for pads and rotors instead.

Questions about front brake pads
How long does front brake pads take?
Usually about 1 hour. Your mechanic will tell you if your vehicle needs longer.
Can it be done at my home?
In most cases, yes. Mobile mechanics need a safe, level place where they're allowed to work, such as a driveway, carport or quiet street (check your strata rules). If your job needs a shop we'll let you know before you pay anything.
Is the price fixed?
Yes. The price on your quote is what you pay. If the mechanic finds something else, they'll explain it and give you a separate price – nothing extra is done without your OK.
Is the work guaranteed?
Confirm your mechanic's parts and labour warranty before booking. See our warranty and repair concerns page for more information.
